Mayda Sotomayor, Managing Director of Greenyard USA / Seald Sweet, has received the 'Woman of the Year' award from The Packer, an industry newspaper, during the opening general session of the United Fresh Produce Association’s 2018 expo.

Greg Johnson, editor of The Packer, highlighted Sotomayor’s personal and business skills, saying that she is well known for promoting a family culture at the company and that her peers, both within and outside the company refer to her amazing ability to connect with growers. One said, “she always makes sure growers feel comfortable because this is their livelihood”. Another remarked that being bilingual certainly helps and creates a comfort zone for suppliers.

Hein Deprez, Greenyard CEO, congratulated Sotomayor for her efforts, enthusiasm and vision for the company.
