Hein started out in 1983 with a small mushroom farm. In 1987, he founded Univeg, which later became Greenyard Fresh. It was the foundation on which he built one of the largest fruit and vegetables companies in the world, with a unique offering in fresh produce, frozen and prepared products, and growing media. In the beginning of 2018, Hein took up the role of CEO for Greenyard, focusing on the company’s long-term vision and strategy, while also personally engaging with some of its key customers.
Carl started his career at Agfa as a Product Manager in the medical imaging division. He joined Barco in 1986, initially on an assignment for Barco’s US operations. He became responsible for mergers & acquisitions within the Barco Group in 1996, playing a key role in the company’s international expansion. In 2000, Carl became CFO of the BarcoNet spin-off. Between 2002 and 2010 he took up various key positions within Barco until he was appointed CFO in 2010. In September 2016 he became CFO at Greenyard. Early 2018, he took up the position of COO, a newly created function within the company.
Tim started his career in 2005 as a consultant at Ernst & Young. In 2010, he joined Univeg, which is now the Greenyard Fresh segment. He has taken up various positions within the company, including Corporate Business Analyst, Finance Manager for the Fruit Partners and Finance Director for Greenyard Fresh. He was CFO of Greenyard USA from September 2012 to March 2014. In February 2018 he was appointed Managing Director of Greenyard Fresh, together with Irénke Meekma.
Irénke joined Bakker Barendrecht in 2000 as Commercial Director. Before that, she worked almost 11 years at Albert Heijn in several positions, including sales, logistics, IT, buying and Category Marketing. In 2005 Bakker Barendrecht became part of Univeg, which is now the Greenyard Fresh segment. She moved to Belgium to join the team of Hein Deprez and helped Univeg to become more than the sum of its parts. Two years later she returned to Bakker Barendrecht to become the Managing Director.
Being born in the founding family, Charles-Henri has been involved with the business from a very early age. At the age of 16 he was already involved in some of the merger & acquisition deals of the company. After graduating as an Economist in 2013 he moved to Argentina as a Project Manager for Expofrut Argentina. Despite the difficult political environment, he succeeded in rapid professional growth. This gave him the opportunity to move to Bakker Barendrecht in September 2015 to head the financial department. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Greenyard from June 2015 until January 2018.
Stefaan joined Greenyard in 2005 and helped merge the then recently acquired companies Agrofino and Peltracom, turning them into a unified, thriving company in the growing media industry. Today he is leading the Horticulture segment, focusing on opportunities for further growth with the aim to become a global leader in its category. As a member of the Leadership Team, he is helping Greenyard become a preferred retail partner for fruit and vegetables, by developing new concepts and using the expertise within different segments.
Christine started her career as a Legal Counsel at FedEx and decided to reorient towards Human Resources Management. Since then she has been active in the IT sector, at Capespan and in a European HR role at Panalpina, a Swiss logistics company. In May 2016 Christine joined Greenyard, leading the Human Resources Management of the company. In this role she is responsible for the development of company-wide remuneration and benefit structures, training and development and related systems support, key management succession planning and talent development.
Alexander started off his career as an attorney in the law firm Laga, specializing in corporate law, mergers & acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He later joined the Belgian chemical group Tessenderlo Chemie as Legal Counsel. In 2015, Alexander became head of the legal department at Greenyard, a company he got to know very well during his years as an M&A-lawyer and with which he had always felt a strong connection and cultural fit.
